Music Together

Offering early childhood music classes in over 40 countries, Music Together is on a mission to make the world a better place through music. Their interactive classes connect children and parents through a song-filled environment.

Music Together’s teachers spend hours double-checking their pen-and-paper lesson plans against disparate resources. To help them, they dreamed up a responsive lesson planning app. We were brought in at the early prototyping stage to apply UX best practices and brand UI to their wireframes.

Legacy and new teachers both needed a fresh introduction.

Though moving away from pen and paper is helpful, there is always a learning curve. To ease teachers into the platform, we walked the fine line of defining how to plan a lesson while still accommodating how legacy teachers have always done it.

The most important task should be simple—create a lesson plan.

We were thoughtful with each feature—only suggesting ones that would truly help their teachers. Like how Music Together’s vast library of song choices can be searched while still viewing the plan they’re building. Or, how color coding and rewording the lesson checklist shows teachers immediately what’s missing.

To add another element of fun to this already playful interface, we animated a few of Music Together’s brand characters. The subtle motion added moments of surprise and delight.
